Center for Adult Auditory Processing of Indianapolis

The Center for Adult Auditory Processing of Indianapolis, a division of Meridian Audiology, LLC is proud to be the only Audiologists in Indiana to specialize in adult auditory processing disorders (A-APD). A-APD refers to the difficulty in how the patient understands and processes speech, despite having “normal hearing” on the traditional audiogram (hearing test).
Common symptoms of A-APD include difficulty following multi-step or complex directions, difficulty multitasking or understanding when in background noise (i.e. difficult listening environments), seemingly poor attention-span in the absence of diagnosed ADD/ADHD, seemingly poor short-term memory. While not a comprehensive or exhaustive list of A-APD symptoms, these are found to be the most common and most frustrating to our patients with A-APD.
At The Center for Adult Auditory Processing of Indianapolis, our goal is to determine whether there is a true auditory component to the complaints, and thus offering a treatment plan to improve one’s quality of life while living with A-APD.
Both Alison Wyss, Au.D. and Kira VonBlon, MS, F-AAA are specially trained in the evaluation and treatment of adult auditory processing disorders. Please contact our office at (317) 731-5386 or via email at info@meridianaudiology.com to schedule an Adult Auditory Processing Evaluation, and begin the journey to better conversations today!
